Terms of use

The service AlbumTrail provides, your rights when using photos, and the scope of organization, deletion and sharing.

Updated: 2026-10-23Effective: 2026-10-23

01 Scope

These terms apply only to the AlbumTrail iPhone app and its product website, between the user and the legal operator (Li Yuqing (李雨青), an individual). Contact: alonicatrail@gmail.com.

These terms are effective from 2026-10-23. Please also read the privacy policy. These terms do not replace any consent needed for personal information processing.

02 What AlbumTrail provides

AlbumTrail helps you browse authorized photos and videos, create in-app albums, choose covers, write notes, search with Chinese descriptions and combined conditions, and revisit memories through Memories, Places, Journeys and smart organization suggestions.

AlbumTrail albums are organization relationships saved by the app, rather than system albums or folders in Apple Photos. Apple Photos continues to manage original files. No AlbumTrail account is required. The current version includes optional iCloud organization backup and App Store tips. The website does not host photos, accept uploads or take payments.

Availability depends on your device, permissions, system state and the network services needed by particular features. Confirmed system compatibility and download regions will be listed on the final App Store page.

03 Permission to use and content rights

Subject to these terms and applicable law, you may install and use AlbumTrail on devices you are entitled to use. Only access, organize or share photos and videos you have the right to use, and respect the privacy and legitimate rights of people pictured.

Your rights in photos, videos and notes do not transfer to the operator by using AlbumTrail. The app processes content only as needed to provide the features you choose.

Rights in AlbumTrail’s software, branding, interface and website materials belong to their respective rights holders. Unless authorized or permitted by law, do not impersonate AlbumTrail, infringe software or material rights, disrupt the service or use it for unlawful activities. This does not restrict research, interoperability or other uses permitted by law.

04 Organization, deletion and backups

Removing a photo from an AlbumTrail album normally removes only that album relationship. Deleting an AlbumTrail album does not delete original photos by default. Original-photo deletion is requested only if you explicitly choose it and complete Apple’s system confirmation. Changes to system favorites and deletions may sync to other devices through iCloud Photos.

Notes are stored in AlbumTrail and do not change captions in Apple Photos. Clearing app data, uninstalling the app or damage to a device may make unbacked-up organization data unrecoverable. Use Profile → iCloud Backup to save organization data and check the last completed backup. Restoring merges local content; original photos still need separate transfer or backup. Keep the old device’s data until you have verified the organization backup and original photos can be recovered.

Read the displayed explanation before confirming an action. These notices do not remove the operator’s legal responsibilities for product quality or data protection.

05 Search, maps and sharing limits

  • Search: On-device recognition may miss or misidentify content. Chinese scene descriptions can combine with capture dates, reliable locations and album scope, but not every description will produce a match. Exact counts, negation, spatial relationships and personal identity have recognition limits. Video-frame search is not supported.
  • Maps: Only authorized photos with a capture location can be shown. Coordinates and place names may be missing, inaccurate or affected by service coverage. The photo map is for revisiting capture locations, rather than safety-critical navigation.
  • Sharing: The system and destination app determine the final format, order and number of received items. Files may retain original metadata such as locations. Check recipients and content as needed.
  • iCloud originals: Cloud content may need to be downloaded, use data or take time. Some previews and features may be unavailable offline or without permission.

06 Optional tips and refunds

This website does not accept purchases. Profile → Support AlbumTrail offers one-time consumable tips processed by the Apple App Store. Current mainland China tiers are CNY 6, 18, 38 and 108. Other regions display their local amounts and currencies; the system confirmation sheet governs the actual transaction.

Tipping is optional, does not renew automatically, includes no physical item and unlocks no additional feature. Each new completed tip is a separate purchase. All features remain available without tipping. TestFlight transactions are sandbox tests and do not incur real charges.

Do not pay again while a purchase is pending or cannot yet be verified. Refunds for real transactions can be requested through Apple’s process and applicable consumer protection rules; these terms do not exclude those rights. The website does not request card details or verification codes.

07 System and third-party services

Apple Photos, Apple Maps, iCloud and the apps you choose for sharing are operated by their respective providers. Their applicable terms and privacy rules may also apply. AlbumTrail does not control their coverage, response times or every processing outcome.

This does not remove AlbumTrail’s responsibility for its own features or obligations under law. For help, see Support & contact.

08 Updates, stopping use and responsibility

AlbumTrail may update the service to improve features, maintain system compatibility, carry out maintenance or comply with law. Material changes that may affect your main features or rights will be explained in advance where reasonably practicable. You may stop using the app and manage local data as described in the privacy policy.

Each party is responsible for its conduct under applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded, remove responsibility for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where imposed by law, or restrict your statutory personal information and consumer rights.

09 Applicable law and disputes

Services offered to users in mainland China are governed by the laws of mainland China. Any mandatory consumer or personal information protections that apply in your location are preserved.

If a dispute arises, we suggest first contacting our support email. If discussion does not resolve it, a claim may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not exclude statutory complaint and remedy channels.
